Check your warranty
New cars generally come with an extensive factory warranty that may cover factory defects, replacement parts and engine repairs. New car warranties are commonly valid for a minimum of two to three years from delivery date, depending on the purchase deal. Purchasing an extended warranty or used car warranty may protect you from funding repairs to the engine, transmission and drivetrain. Check for details as the items covered vary between warranties; some will also cover repairs to antilock brakes, heating and air conditioning, airbags and some accessory and computer systems repairs. Read the small print before engaging a mechanic for what may be serviced under your warranty.
